Current Lab Members

Amanda Kruczkowski is from Fairfax, VA and has been a member of the lab since Fall 2019. She is studying psychology and family sciences. In the future, Amanda hopes to work with children with intellectual disabilities.

Allie Silvestrini is a senior double majoring in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Criminology. She plans to go to law school after graduation and pursue a career in the FBI.

Lexee McDonald is a human health sciences major on an occupational therapy track with a minor in dance. She hopes to specialize in pediatrics. Lexee has been a member of our lab since Fall 2019 and has coded over 2,000 math problems!

Former Lab Members

Andie MacDonald was a member of the lab for three semesters. She will be pursuing a Master’s in Social Work this Fall at the University of Cincinnati. She plans to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and work with children.

Caelin Mcmanis is from Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from UK with a major in psychology and a minor in communications. She has been in the lab for one year and intends to take a gap year before going to grad school. Her hobbies include reading, rock climbing, and guitar hero. 

Gabrielle Eismann was one of the first research assistants in the Cognition and Development Lab. She is now pursuing her graduate degree in forensic psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, along with our most beloved research assistant, Nivens McTwisp.

Hannah Tyger recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Neuroscience and minor in Spanish. She was a member of the lab for two semesters during which she worked on almost every research project. She is now pursuing a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at the University of Indianapolis. Hannah loves to travel and cook!

Jessica Blake is a senior this year graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology. Jessica has been in the Cognitive Development Lab for one year. After graduation she will start graduate school at UK, pursuing a PhD in School Psychology. Her personal research interests include ability grouping and understanding gifted and talented students in the classroom. 

Lauren Zahrn was a member of our lab from Spring 2019 until she graduated in May 2020. She served as our lab manager for two semesters. Lauren received a BA in Psychology and Spanish and plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology. In her free time, Lauren loves to read, paint, and put together puzzles.

Molli Wilkins is a junior from Paducah, KY majoring in psychology. She is interested in research exploring aspects of child development. During her time in the lab, she worked on studies investigating interventions for math anxiety in undergraduates and the math attitudes of preservice teachers.

Nikki Kumar is from Ashland KY. She was a research assistant in the lab during summer and fall 2019 and recently received her BA in Psychology from UK. Nikki is attending NKU for mental health counseling. She enjoys dancing in her free time.

Nivens McTwisp was the first service dog in the Cognition and Development Lab. Nivens is now in New Jersey with his mom, Gabrielle Eismann, attending Fairleigh Dickinson University. Nivens’ favorite things were playing ball in the lab, begging for snacks and the endless belly rubs he got from his fellow lab mates.
